Gili sustainable farms is a part of the AgriLiving Sustainable Farms Concept . The farms are designed to have multiple enterprises which are integrated and work in synergy to create impact in terms of being economically profitable , socially responsible , and environmental stewardship .

LOCATION :  SOUTH AFRICA 

The total investment envisaged over 3 years is approx. USD 130.50 Mn.

The project can start immediately with the privately-owned land in Stellenbosch and establish a mini version of the agri village.

Provides for an excellent opportunity for investment to generate high impact in terms of socio-economic as well as ecological benefits target 11 out of 17 SDG’s.

Management : AgriLiving has excellent management credentials with access to an experienced project management team to execute project.

JOBS: The project offers at least 300+ jobs in the 1st year and increases to 1,200 jobs from year 5 onwards. 80% of these new jobs will be for Women and 50% of these new jobs will be for Youth.

Circular economy: The project utilizes most of the products within the system like water recovery from “Zero-power ECO STP”, biogas plant to recycle biodegradable waste into excellent compost for the crops, etc.

The revenue from berries provides good cash flow for the project operationswhile Cannabis income creates the wealth. The project is estimated to achieve cash breakeven in the 1styear itself

Cannabis for medical applications will provide for sustainable preventive care against most of the conditions, here it is key to get into industry on a smaller scale (2,000 sq m) and then scale it up to 3 Ha (30,000 sq m) in the 3rd year taking forward the learnings and the experience.

Product: Fresh berries (blueberries, cape gooseberries, raspberries, and blackberries) for export. Processed berries and vegetables (cut vegetables, salads, and prepared meals) for domestic market and home deliveries. Cannabis products for medical purpose for all markets.

Risk management: The project is mainly based on agriculture which is the key experience area for AgriLiving and has strategies to overcome any risk associated with the same.

Renewable energy: Solar panels are installed on the roofs including houses, processing facilities, warehouses, schools, etc. to reduce the grid dependence and achieve self-sufficiency.
